Rainbow Cuddles Stuffed Crochet Unicorn with Bow on Tail Project (Done)

free crochet pattern found online by OneDogWoof

I had a request last year for another unicorn, this one larger for for a family member’s oldest girl to cuddle and carry around. When I came across the free crochet pattern by OneDogWoof I knew I found a perfect match for her and didn’t need to brainstorm any more as requests were made for all 4 of the children in that family plus the holidays were rapidly approaching. (Yes… yikes.)

Here is what the original pattern with colors from their pattern looked like in picture below.

Rainbow Cuddles Crochet Unicorn Pattern One Dog Woof

Unfortunately Hurricane Irma happened. While we did not sustain much damage to our home itself, our yard and fence plus my body itself did. I could not crochet again til this past week. So this little guy sat with no tail or mane until a few days ago.

I decided to add the bow to secure the tail and hide any ugly extra double knots I add for security with little ones… plus I really love giving the girls the pink bows they love. :) I did change the leg positioning to the the sides more for better hugging and cuddling at night. After a bit of struggling due to hands and that mane, I am pleased with the end result. Hoping the little one will be as well.

Here are some pics of the adorable unicorn. The pattern is a definite keeper.

P.S. Keep tuned for updated blogs and pictures for all the projects I did but didn’t update on pre Irma. Lots of amigurumi and a whole new free pattern set I have been creating that I am very excited about.

He Loves Me Daisy Crochet Blanket

When I came across the picture for the He Love Me daisy blanket in a March / April 2013 issue of Crochet Today I instantly fell in love. I mean totally smitten. I have never needed to make a blanket so bad before. Why did I love it so? One I’m all about daisies period.  They are one of the few flowers I adore.  Two the pattern just looked amazing.

So I thought I would give it a shot and this is how my project turned out. Scroll down for some additional shots.  The blanket I made was so big it almost covered my entire queen sized bed.  It was a labor of love for me as it took three weeks of my crocheting for it to come together. I am definitely not going to attempt a project this large again for a long time but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and it is mighty comfortable like all crocheting blankets.

What do you think?  It’s definitely not as perfect as original and the colors are different but I still love it. You can see more information on the He Loves Me

blanket here at Crochet Today.

Bedside Hanging Organization Pouch Crochet Project

Bedside Hanging Organization Pouch Crochet Project

I do a lot of things while in bed so I always like things within reach. This project worked up pretty fast as it’s basically layers of hdc rectangles in sizes I wanted for pockets. The top has to be long enough to anchor under box springs or in between mattress and box springs.  Thus you have an organization center right on the side of your bed!  Just make sure you measure the distance from where you want it to hang from to the floor. Otherwise you might end up with one laying half on the floor if it’s too long, which absolutely didn’t happen to me on my first try… 😉

Soft Zebra Striped Stuffed Kindle Fire Holder Crochet Project

Soft Zebra Striped Stuffed Kindle Fire Holder Crochet Project

Soft Zebra Striped Stuffed Kindle Fire Holder Crochet Project

I am an avid reader but due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis affecting my hands, I was no longer able to hold a book to read for more than a few minutes.  Turning pages was painful and my hand would spasm while holding the book. This would result in said book flying through the air losing my place. Rinse and repeat every few minutes and you can imagine my frustration.  My Kindle Fire gave me back my love of reading! No more turning pages or hand cramps from holding books open to read.  My only drawback is that it is so thin that I have trouble holding on to it at times or the weight of it would cause the corners to push into my hands.  So I thought of a  nice padded cover. I searched high and low, online and offline but couldn’t find one to purchase. So that’s how this little guy was born.   I did write down pattern notes at the time but I’m not sure where that piece of paper is right now.  If I find it I will share and move this to patterns but if I don’t, I my try to make a new pattern as I would like to have room for the charging port so I don’t have to keep taking it off. :)

One Giant Granny Square Blanket Crochet Project

One Giant Granny Square Blanket Crochet Project

One Giant Granny Square Blanket Crochet Project

I couldn’t remember where I first stumbled across this pattern idea years ago but it’s been a fall back pattern for me to do for gifts when I want to mindlessly crochet something. It’s surprising how fast these work up too.  Basically the whole blanket is just one easy giant granny square so no sewing together pieces, squares or motifs. That’s a giant check in the plus side for me. I really do hate sewing pieces together. I try to avoid if it at all possible. lol Seriously I do.

Well since I couldn’t remember the exact site I found it on here is the pattern on one site that I did find for this project. Check out the Giant, Giant Granny Square Blanket crochet pattern at  Purl Bee to whip up your own.

Baby Girl Sweet Monster Crochet Project

Baby Girl Sweet Monster Crochet Project Stuffed Doll

When I found out that one of my new nieces loved the monster doll I made for my oldest nephew so much she  kind of kidnapped him I knew I needed to making a special monster doll just for her.  Sadly I didn’t write down the pattern or notes as I worked on it. It was during last minutes holiday gift crunch time when I managed to put her together. Oops.  I may try my hand at redoing her again in the near future to get a pattern for some of the other cute little girls in my family. :)

Bath Time Alligator Hand Puppet Washcloth Crochet Project

Bath Time Alligator Hand Puppet Washcloth Crochet Project

Bath Time Alligator Hand Puppet Washcloth Crochet Project

This project was completed using a pattern from an external source. It is free crochet pattern to visitors over at favecrafts.com titled “Bath Friends Puppets” which I followed for the most part… I was over half way done when I noticed all the pieces it wanted me to make separate and sew together when done. I *hate* sewing things together with a passion  which is why I have so many in progress or almost finished projects laying about.. So I ended up playing around with the pattern for a bit and came up with this poor looking guy.  Apparently he was quite a hit with my nephew so mission accomplished I suppose.

Okay so he has grown on me a little bit…
