Who is cRAfterChick a crafty chick with Rheumatoid Arthritis

My name is Niki and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis among a flurry of other medical issues.  Most people online know me from my online community, RA Chicks: Women with Rheumatoid Arthitis which this crafty blog’s title is a play on those words meet craft. Dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis can be hard but one thing I won’t let it take from me is my crafting.  I am 38 now and live in Clearwater, Florida with my fiance and 4 Pomeranians.  I’ve been blessed with some wonderful nephews and nieces that I love making things for.

As you flip through my patterns, all free, I hope you enjoy them and feel free to share. I have love for many thinks geeky, cute, educational for my mother the teacher’s classroom and just fun to lift the spirits of those around me.

I am all about crochet right now and wanted a place to share my projects and patterns that I make along the way with you all.  I’m definitely no professional.

All my patterns here at cRAfterChick.com are free for your use.  All I ask is that if you want to sell items made from patterns or share on your website that you give me credit for the pattern or any pictures you share.

I do hope you like some of my designs.  Please feel free to try them out and let me know what you think. Please keep in mind I am in the US, these are US stitches and I am working on updating old patterns on site as my health allows at this time since my break in crochet had an absence from this project. Once I catch up, I have some amazing new projects and patterns to add in a new direction which I can’t wait to share.

Happy crafting! <3

*Due to health issues, cRAfterChick has been absent for a long length of time as I have been unable to crochet let alone muster energy to dedicate to this blog. Finally getting health under control where I am able to crochet again so hoping to update site, edit old patterns for you all and get new patterns up with work I have been creating. Thank you for your patience and understanding.*

  3. I just finished one of your beanies, so quick & easy to make! I used to be able to make items without a pattern, I am no longer able to do that. Thank you so much from a Granny, who loves to sew for her little ones!

  8. I have fibermyalgia and am currently waiting for blood work results to determine if I have RA and/or lupus. I have been crocheting since I was a small child. I turned 36 a few months ago. I worry what the diagnosis of RA and/or Lupus will do to my ability to crochet. I don’t read patterns but I do create them. Do you have any tips or good advise for a fellow crocheter possibly facing the trials that comes from this illness and our ability to do our craft?
